Friends Wall community and user generated content

  • This website contains user-generated content for which we accept no responsibility.
  • If you submit written or multimedia content to the website, Friends of the Elderly will not publish it elsewhere without your consent. However you should be aware that other users may be able to copy or download any content published on the website.
  • Users are expected to only post lawful material that does not infringe the rights of, restrict or inhibit anyone else's use of the website.
  • Friends of the Elderly does not review material prior to publication. However post publication it retains the right to edit or delete forum posts.

"Be A Friend" includes Friends of the Elderly its connected companies, trustees, officers, employees and all those employed or otherwise engaged by it and/or them. To post messages on the Friends Wall you must be over 18. By registering, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions and codes of conduct for use on Be a Friend friends wall.

Keep safe
Please be aware the Friends Wall is public and your posts may appear in internet searches. Please be careful with your personal information. If you wish to remain anonymous, don’t use your real, full name as your screen name. Please do not post your contact details (we will remove them). Please do not share or post anyone else’s personal information.

Keep it legal
Please only post your own content; otherwise you could be infringing copyright. Do not identify professionals (especially by name). Publishing statements which damage other’s reputations could lead to legal action under libel law.

Keep it useful and honest
We want you to share experiences, but please be careful not to give medical advice. Please do not try to sell things or promote products. Duplicate posts make it difficult for people to find what they need: any duplicate posts made will be deleted.

Report inappropriate content
Whilst the content will be regularly moderated, we do not approve every post before it goes live, so please report any post you feel violates our guidelines.

Keep it clean
Use of profanity/cursing/pornographic references in any language is not permitted. 

If you breach our guidelines, the decision of the moderator is final and no discussion will be entered into by Friends of the Elderly or the moderator about what is a breach or the action taken following an alleged breach.
